Despite this being only the third release of Sons of Eden’s entry level Barossa Shiraz, it has built up such a popular following that it sells out in a matter of months. This wine pays tribute to David Marschall who was not only responsible for planting many treasured old vine vineyards throughout the Barossa but was also a revered martial artist, actor and demolition expert. The majority of the fruit is sourced from three Marschall vineyards located in the Tanunda and Ebenezer districts. The Tanunda vineyard provides intense aromatic lift while the Ebenezer vineyards provide a denser fruit core and richness. Maturation took place in a mixture of new and seasoned French and American oak for a period of 18 months.

Rich, powerful and beautifully textured, yet perfectly poised, this is an Outstanding example of modern day Barossa Shiraz.

Outstanding colour displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark purple hue. Potent aromas of liquorice, dark plum and blackberry are complimented by smoky fennel like characters followed by meaty blackpepper end notes. Lashings of opulent fruit cascade across a palate that shows outstanding concentration and richness with mouthfilling flavours of liquorice, dark plum and blackberries overlaying a back drop of smoky vanillin cedar, some meatiness and blackpepper. A soft supple textural feel is complimented by satiny tannins. Excellent power with a long moreish conclusion of liquorice, blackberry, dark plum, smoky vanillin oak and meaty blackpepper characters. Fantastic Value.
