Named as a tribute to the legendary Barossa Vigneron’s who pioneered the planting of the old treasured vineyards, the Grenache fruit is the ‘soul’ of this blend and is sourced from an exceptionally low yielding (1.2 to 2.2 tons per acre) 50+ year-old Light Pass Vineyard. It was originally planted by the Kennedy Family, with ownership eventually being passed onto the charismatic Leo ‘Joe’ KENNEDY who nurtured the vines for many years, selling his prized fruit to local winemakers.

A rich, deliciously savoury GSM that flows across the palate with a textural smoothness.

Produced from a blend of 40% Grenache, 34% Shiraz and 26% Mourvedre with maturation taking place in seasoned oak barrels for 16 months. Opaque dark red black colour with a bright dark red hue. Fragrant aromas of dark raspberries, plum and liquorice are overlaid by hints of incense with faint earth and spicy end notes also chipping in. Rich and supplely textured the medium bodied palate is over flowing with succulent dark raspberry, plum and liquorice flavours gently laced with incense infusions over some subtle scorched earth nuances. Excellent length and concentration finishing spicy with velvet smooth tannins and a long sumptuous aftertaste of spice, dark raspberries, plum, liquorice and incense infusions.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
