The pinot noir grape variety seems to be well suited to the cool climate environment of the Denmark sub-region of the Great Southern. This wine spent nine months in Francois Frères and Taransaud pinot selection French oak barriques, 40% new, the remainder one and two years old.

Deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Fragrant aromas of dark cherries and strawberries laced with violets rise from the glass followed by dried cloves, meaty cedar and spicy earth notes. Medium bodied with good richness the savoury palate dishes up flavours of ripe dark cherries, strawberries and plum over subtle dried clove infusions and some meaty cedar characters with plenty of spice on the finish. Very good power wave. Slightly dryish but finely grained tannins with a long spicy aftertaste of dark cherries, ripe strawberries, dried cloves, some meatiness and spicy cedar.
Cellar 4-5 years.
Alc 14.2%
