A blend of 66% Shiraz, 27% Grenache and 7% Mataro. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep purple red hue. The nose sprouts aromas of ripe black raspberries, dark plum and liquorice over vanillin cedar and spice. Rich juicy blackberry, dark raspberry and liquorice flavours are to the fore followed by toasty vanillin cedar, earth and spice. Dryish finish with slightly chalky tannins. Aftertaste of blackberries, black cherries, liquorice, toasty vanillin cedar and spicy earth.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14.3%
66% shiraz, 27% grenache and 7% mataro, each component cold-soaked and separately fermented, matured for 10 months in French barriques (30% new). The spicy array of black fruits ex shiraz, and red flavours from grenache and mataro combine synergistically. It is supple and finely structured, and its perfect balance makes it an each way proposition for drinking now or in 10 years time. Drink by 2027.
