$335.88 Dozen
Cellar: 5 - 6 Years (2024-2025)
ABV: 14.5%

Sourced from a single vineyard this wine was created as a tribute to Ben Schild who began the family’s long association with winemaking and viticulture. The 2015 vintage was fermented in open fermenters before being matured in a combination of new and old French, American and Hungarian oak for 18 months and then underwent a further 24 months maturation in bottle prior to release.

Thick, rich and boasting huge levels of concentrated fruit this is about as decadent as Barossa Shiraz gets.

Inky black in colour and totally impenetrable with a deep dark red black hue. Heady scents of liquorice, ripe blackberries and black cherries enchant the olfactory senses with toasty vanillin oak, scorched earth and spicy pepper notes ensuing. Rich, sumptuous and full bodied, the voluptuously textured palate is saturated with lush blackberry, liquorice and black cherry fruit. An overlay of smoky vanillin oak is trailed by subtle earth and dried meats with a burst of spice and pepper on the finish. Velvet like yet with a sturdy underbelly, the tannins provide a great framework. Amazing power finishing very long and plush.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
From vines planted '00, the vinification identical to Pramie. There is a tsunami of luscious black fruits, dark chocolate, ginger and spice, the tannins quick to mark their presence, but not envelope the fruit. Drink by 2048.
