2015 Ryder Watervale Shiraz

Matured in a combination of French and American oak for 15 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a bright dark red hue. Lifted blackberry and liquorice aromatics overlay some vanillin oak and spicy pepper. Rich and juicy the palate is filled with lashings of ripe blackberry and liquorice over a background of toasty vanillin oak and spicy pepper. There’s a touch of inkiness on the finish which imparts a sense of dryness to the otherwise supple mouthfeel. Very fine grained tannins with an aftertaste of inky blackberries, liquorice, spicy vanillin cedar and blackpepper.
