2015 Powell & Son Barossa & Eden Valleys Shiraz

Impressively coloured with a totally opaque inky black core and a very deep dark purple black tinged hue. Pronounced liquorice, dark plum and juicy blackberry scents hold sway over an undercurrent of vanillin cedar, a hint of scorched earth and spice. Decadently rich and powerful, delicious gob smacking fruit flavours of juicy blackberries, dark plums and liquorice saturate the palate over a back drop of vanillin oak, some inkiness and spicy pepper. Despite all its opulent glory it finishes with good freshness and velvet smooth tannins. Outstanding power with a long scrumptious aftertaste of spicy ripe blackberries, dark plums, liquorice, some inkiness, vanillin cedar and pepper.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Barossa & Eden Valleys Shiraz delivers expressive red currant, black cherry and crushed blackberry notes over hints of baking spices, garrigue, black pepper and lavender. Medium to full-bodied and very finely textured with silken, fine-grained tannins and plenty of freshness, it has wonderful length and depth. Drink 2017-2035.
