2015 Navarro Lopez Tierracalar Tempranillo

A great value introduction to Spanish Tempranillo.

Located in Spain's central plateau, to the south east of Madrid, Valdepeñas (meaning 'Valley of Stones') is arguably Spain's oldest wine region. Deep dark purple black colour with a bright crimson purple hue. On the nose aromas of black and ripe dark cherries are intermixed with incense infusions followed by some earthy leather and spice notes. Medium bodied with rich juicy flavours and a chewy mouthfeel the palate features ripe dark and black cherries over some inky earth like characters, subtle incense infusions and spicy leather. Fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of spicy ripe dark cherries, subtle incense infusions, inky earth and leather.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
