With winemaking Maestro Ben Glaetzer at the helm, Mitolo wines have rapidly achieved world wide recognition. A new cuvee the Angela Shiraz is positioned between the Jester and G.A.M. labels. Fruit is sourced from long time growers, the Lopresti families single vineyard Sandra’s Block which produces fruit of great purity and concentration from its 30 plus year old vines, whilst retaining Mitolo’s signature softness. The wine was matured in fine grained French oak, 10% of which was new, for 18 months.

Bursting with rich black fruit, this opulent beauty is a McLaren Vale classic.

Showing impressive density this pitch black coloured Shiraz offers up alluring aromas of dark plum, liquorice and ripe black cherries with following notes of smoky vanillin cedar, faint earth and spicy pepper adding interest. Gloriously rich and plush in its feel the voluptuous palate is completely saturated with decadent ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum flavours which overlay a back drop of subtlety smoked vanillin cedar, traces of scorched earth and pepper. Polished, velvet like tannins. Superb fruit intensity with a long powerful conclusion of ripe blackberries, liquorice, dark plums, smoky vanillin cedar and spicy pepper.
