Produced from Marsanne part of the fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks and part in demi-muids. The lees are stirred for the first 2-3 months adding texture to the wine. Approximately 50-60% of the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks with the balance aged in demimuids of which 10% are new and 90% older oak.

Brilliant straw colour with a watery hue. The nose offers up scents of dried apricots and bees wax followed by some baked apple and citrusy honeysuckle like end notes. Full and rich in the mouth but finishing with good freshness the palate boasts ripe apricot and peach flavours intermingling with honeysuckle and bees wax followed by some ripe citrus and spice. Clean dry finish with a fullish, almost creamy like textural feel. Long ripe apricot, peaches, honeysuckle, bees wax and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 13.5%

Other Reviews….
The finest vintage for this cuvée I’ve ever tasted, the sensational 2015 Hermitage Chante Alouette boasts awesome notes of white peach, orange marmalade and white flowers in a rich, full-bodied, concentrated style. Coming from three different terroirs on Hermitage Hill (Méal, Les Murets and Chante Alouette), don’t miss it! Drink 2016-2019.

Very fresh, with a honeysuckle-gilded core of white peach, melon rind and Jonagold apple notes. The beguiling finish lets hints of talc and wet stone glide through. Shows lovely purity and serious length. Drink now through 2029.
