Located in Tanunda in the Barossa, Linke remains a 5th generation family owned producer. Their two vineyards - the "Stonewell Block" on the western side of the Barossa, and the "Dorrien" which is on the valley floor, consistently produce top notch fruit for renowned labels (including St Halletts and Langmeil). Since 2002, a portion of fruit has been reserved for the family's own label utilising vines that have an average age of 20 years old. Maturation is American oak, 90% used and 10% new.

Plush and deep this rich gutsy Shiraz is loaded with a dense core of lavishly textured fruit and a liberal dose of vanillin oak.

Totally impenetrable inky black colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Powerful aromatics of liquorice, ripe blackberries, liqueured black cherries and notions of dark chocolate laced with vanillin oak waft from the glass followed by spice end notes. Rich, heavy, voluptuous and totally over the top, the texturally polished palate is doused with a huge core of rich black fruit. Lashings of succulent black cherries, liquorice, blackberries and dark chocolate sit over a back drop of vanillin oak and spicy mocha. Velvet smooth tannins. Outstanding concentration and power with a long opulent aftertaste of ripe black cherries, liquorice, blackberries, subtle dark chocolate and spicy vanillin oak.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
