2015 Kilikanoon Covenant Shiraz

Sourced from a range of premium Clare Valley vineyards the Covenant is matured in a combination new and seasoned French oak hogsheads for 20 months. Impenetrable black as night colour with a deep dark red black hue. Powerful scents of ripe blackberry, liquorice and black cherries waft from the glass overlaying dark plum, hints of fennel, toasty vanillin cedar and pepper. Rich, concentrated and powerful the palate is also blessed with a sturdily built structure. Opulent flavours of blackberries, liquorice and ripe black cherries totally engulf the mouth with an undercard of subtlety smoked vanillin cedar, fennel and pepper. Robust tannins form a great framework. Outstanding length with a long blackberry, liquorice, black cherry, smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and blackpepper aftertaste.
