This long time customer favourite has a major packaging overhaul, now donning a largely unrecognizable orange label. Luckily what’s inside the bottle is as good as ever, which is the most important thing. Ben Jeanneret calls this curiously named wine 'Rank & File'. It's what Shiraz represents to him - the heart and soul of the Australian wine industry. Sourced from some of the best low yielding, old vine vineyards in Clare, the fruit for this wine was matured in a mixture of French and American oak of which 16% was new for 12 months.

Rich and plush to the point of being liqueur like, this is a compelling elixir for hedonists.

Impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Heady aromas of ripe black cherries, liquorice and blackberries are followed by toasty vanillin cedar and pepper. Wow!... you’re immediately hit with enormous waves of rich succulent fruit that crash across the palate. Boasting decadent richness and lofty weight an explosion of ripe black cherries and liquorice cascade over some luscious blackberries with an undercurrent of toasty vanillin oak and spice. Totally voluptuous in its textural feel with the solidly built tannins overrun by the sheer opulence of the fruit. Outstanding power with a very long luscious black cherry, liquorice, blackberry, toasty vanillin oak and spice aftertaste. There’s no finesse or elegance to this wine – it’s all about sublime power and off the charts richness.
Cellar 4-5 years.
