The JC’s Own label is the personal project of Massena winemaker Jaysen Collins with the labels inspired by street art he sees in his travels. The fruit for this wine is sourced from a single vineyard located in the Barossa Valley sub region of Stonewell. The 50 year old vines yielding a lowly 1.2 tonnes per acre. Aged for 25 months in 1 year old low toast French oak barriques a portion of pressings was included to provide additional structure.

Massively endowed with rich black fruits and ripe chewy tannins this is a hedonist offering from Jaysen Collins of Massena fame.

Spectacular colour with a super saturated core of inky black and an impenetrable hue of dark red black. Powerful aromatics of ripe dark plum, black cherries, blackberry and chocolate bullets waft from the glass followed by vanillin cedar, hints of fennel and spice. Full bodied this huge mouthful of a wine has out of this world richness and super concentrated flavours of dark plums, black cherries, blackberries and liquorice backed by a muscular yet opulent mouthfeel. Also evident are nuances of vanillin oak, spice and traces of pepper. Firm, robust tannin structure. Mind boggling power with an exceptionally long finish of ripe dark plums, black cherries, blackberries, liquorice and spicy vanillin oak. With only 558 bottles produced this is extremely limited.
Cellar 6-8 years.
