2015 Izway Don Barossa Valley Shiraz

The Don is a single vineyard wine sourced from one of the Barossa Valley’s most famous viticultural families; Adrian & Jeff Hoffmann. Specifically, the fruit is from their Dahlwitz vineyard in the famous sub-appellation of Ebenezer.
Outstanding colour displaying an exceptionally deep inky black core with a deep dark red black hue. Powerful aromatics of ripe blackberries, dark plum and liquorice waft through the nostrils followed by notions of fennel, smoky cedar, faint hints of clove, dark chocolate and spice. Dense, thick and super concentrated the massive palate delivers an explosive flavour profile of luscious blackberries, dark plums, liquorice and cassis which saturate every corner of the mouth. An undercard of smoky cedar, fennel, traces of dried clove and spicy pepper ensue. Voluptuous mouthfeel with a solid core of robust yet finely grained tannins for the most part masked by the wines sheer decadence. Extraordinary power with an exceptionally long and lavish finish that lingers long after the wine has been swallowed. A magnificent Barossa Shiraz.
