2015 Indigo Sangiovese

Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a red hue. Lifted spicy dark cherry and red currant aromas sit above some earthy cedar and hints of dried herbs. Savoury and elegant the light to medium bodied palate dishes up delicious dark cherry and red currant flavours followed by dusty vanillin cedar, dried herbs and spice. Very savoury with a dryish finish, finely grained tannins and well balanced freshness. Long ripe red currant, dark cherry, subtle earth, dried herb and spicy old cedar aftertaste. Definitely one of the better Australian Sangiovese’s going around at present.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.

Beautifully formed. Light to medium-weight but the mix of berried fruits and smoky, peppery, clovey characters is a winner. Fleshy tannin does just enough to give the wine shape. Terrifically drinkability. Drink by 2021.
