2015 Hentley Farm The Stray Mongrel Grenache Shiraz Zinfandel

Made from a blend of 57% Grenache, 39% Shiraz & 4% Zinfandel with maturation taking place in a combination of old French (70%) and American (30%) oak for a period of 8 months. Deep dark red colour with a bright crimson purple hue. Aromas of ripe dark cherries, a hint of plum jam and raspberry slowly reveal themselves with faint dried cherry and spice end notes. Much more forthcoming than the nose the palate is filled with luscious red raspberry and plum flavours over a touch of liquorice and faint earth with a very spicy finish. Succulent juicy mouthfeel with finely grained velvet like tannins. Long aftertaste of spicy red raspberries, plum jam and subtle liquorice.
