$299.88 Dozen
Cellar: 8 - 10 Years (2025-2027)
ABV: 14%

The fruit to make this wine was sourced from Coonawarra, McLaren Vale and Frankland River. Great colour featuring an impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Attractively scented nose with a combination of red currant, blackcurrant and mulberries leading the way over cedary tobacco characters, dried herbs and spice. Medium bodied with an elegant yet structured mouthfeel and good richness the palate sports flavours of ripe red currants and mulberries subtlety infused with bay leaf over a back drop of light dried herbs and spicy dusty cedar. Dryish finish with sturdy, slightly chalky tannins providing the framework. Aftertaste of ripe red currant, mulberry, bay leaf, dusty cedar and spice.
Cellar 8-10 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews….
Bin D670. Hardys has been making regional blends since 1865, so this simply follows Thomas Hardy's prescription. He, however, couldn't go to Coonawarra or the Frankland River, these two regions blended with McLaren Vale 150 years after the edict. The colour is deep but vibrant purple-crimson, and the full-bodied palate has the black-fruited power of a weightlifter and the balance of a high wire walker. It is one of those wines with a 100-year life stamped on it. Drink by 2055.
