2015 Giant Steps Merlot

Youthful opaque black dark red colour with a bright dark red hue. Lifted blackcurrant and mulberry aromas intermix with some cedary tobacco characters, earth and spice. Tight, inky mouthfeel but with good underlying richness the palate has flavours of blackcurrant intermixed with mulberries, cedary tobacco characters, subtle black olives and spicy earth. Dry finish with robust, structured tannins. Medium to long blackcurrant, mulberry, earthy vanillin cedar and spicy tobacco aftertaste. A tightly structured Merlot with plenty of richness lurking beneath.
