100% Cabernet Franc sourced from 45 year old vines with maturation taking place in 3 and 4 year old French oak demi-muids for 18 months. Deep dark red black tinged colour with a dark red hue. A lifted bouquet of ripe red currants tinged with hints of violets meld into some cherry, leafy cedar like notes, dusty earth, fresh herbs and a hint of pepper. Medium weight and possessing plenty of finesse there’s a touch more richness to the bright red fruits here in comparison to the 2016 Frédéric Mabileau Les Rouillères Cabernet Franc. Ripe red currant and cherry flavours intermix with dusty cedar, spicy herbs and subtle earthy leather characters. Dryish finish with vibrant well judged acidity and refined tannins. Long spiced red currant, fresh herb, dusty cedar, subtle leather and peppercorn aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 12.5%
