2015 Felton Road Calvert Pinot Noir

A beautifully balanced Central Otago Pinot showcasing the varietals classic power without weight trait.

Fermented with 25% whole clusters and matured for 16 months in French oak. Semi translucent dark red colour with a tinge of black around the edges and a dark red hue. Perfumed aromas of violets soar from the glass overlaying some red and dark cherry fruit notes, ripe strawberry, anise, meaty cedar and spice. Despite being light in body the palate possesses beautiful fruit purity and richness. Succulent flavours of red and dark cherries, ripe strawberries and plum sail long into the finish with a superb power wave. Supple textural feel with an underpinning of subtle anise, some meatiness and spicy cedar. Very refined, perfectly integrated tannins with bright yet balanced acidity. Exceptional length with a very long conclusion of spicy dark cherries, ripe plums, strawberries, subtle anise, some meatiness and spicy cedar.
