- Cellar 4 - 5 years (2022-2023)
- ABV 14%
- Closure: Cork
A blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre sourced from vines with an average age of 35 years. Maturation took place in oak foudres for 18 months. Totally opaque dark red black core with a dark red hue. Elevated black raspberry, black cherry and liquorice aromas morph into earthy leather, incense, dried herbs and spicy pepper notes. Rich and spicy with medium to full body weight the palate is layered with succulent black raspberry, black cherry and liquorice flavours. Generous mouthfeel with scorched earth, infusions of incense, dried herbs and pepper sitting beneath the fruit. Ripe, slightly chewy tannins. Great depth with a lengthy spicy black raspberry, black cherry, liquorice, scorched earth and peppered dried herb aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years.
As usual, the 2015 Cotes du Rhone features a majority of Syrah, largely sourced from the western side of the Rhône. Spicy, peppery, hickory aromas lead off, adding berries up front and then moving into darker fruit and more savory notes of black olive by the finish. This medium to full-bodied wine finishes long and silky, avoiding any of the vintage's hard tannins, while still boasting the concentration to drink well through at least 2023.
