Cellar: 5 - 6 Years (2021-2022)

A youthful Yarra Valley Cabernet that exemplifies the outstanding quality of the 2015 vintage.

A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Merlot with maturation taking place in French oak (30% new) for a period of 10 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a bright dark red hue. Aromas of spicy red and blackcurrant fruit are followed by cedar and hints of dried herbs. Medium bodied and elegant yet possessing excellent richness the palate is filled with blackcurrant and dark mulberry flavours which are supported by fine grained, structured tannins that provide some grip on the back end. Nuances of dried herb infusions, faint tobacco and spicy cedar are also apparent. Excellent length with a long aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant fruit, dark mulberries, tobacco, dried herb infusions and spicy cedar.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14%

Other Reviews….
Strikingly clear colour. Is a prime example of the reasons why Dominique Portet set his sights on the Yarra Valley, and this particular part of the Yarra Valley, almost 20 years ago. There is a purity to the wine, evident right from the bouquet through the palate and on to the aftertaste; flavour, texture and structure are indivisible, but insistent. Small wonder it won a gold medal at the Yarra Valley Wine Show '16. Drink by 2030.
