2015 De Bortoli Villages Shiraz Grenache

Matured in older French oak casks. Opaque dark purple black colour with a dark purple hue. The nose throws up a combination of spicy black cherry, dark raspberry and liquorice aromas with hints of dried meats, smoky vanillin cedar and light pepper also evident. A little firmer in its structure and mouthfeel than the 2014 the medium bodied palate has juicy flavours of black raspberries and liquorice over spicy dried meats, a light smokiness and blackpepper. Slightly meaty mouthfeel with fine grained yet very structured tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of spicy dark raspberries, liquorice, dried meats, vanillin cedar and blackpepper.
