2015 Carpineta Fontalpino Chianti Colli Senesi

Since the 1960’s, the Cresti family has been running this estate located in Castelnuovo Berardenga in the southern part of the Chianti Classico region. This 80 hectare property, of which 23 are dedicated to wine, produces a traditional style of Chianti Classico with a modern edge to it.

Deep dark red black tinged colour with a dark red hue. Uplifted scents of ripe dark cherries merge into a hint of liquorice, earthy cedar, traces of old leather and dried herb infusions. Medium bodied the palate possesses generous dark cherry fruit that intermingles with traces of dark chocolate over a back drop of earthy cedar characters, dried herbs and spice. Dryish finish with slightly rustic tannins. Aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, dried cherries, earthy cedar, dried herbs and spice.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
