Bowen Estate are capable of producing Shiraz that rival some of the best from more renown Shiraz producing regions such as McLaren Vale and Barossa Valley. The result of outstanding vintage conditions the 2015 is no exception gleaming with rich seductive black fruit. Family owned for over 40 years, Doug Bowen’s daughter Emma has now taken over the winemaking reigns.

A Lavish Coonawarra Shiraz boasting a huge core of black fruit complimented by ripe chewy tannins.

Magnificent inky black core with a very deep dark purple black hue. Elevated aromatics of liquorice, ripe blackberries and dark plums leap from the glass with overlaying scents of lightly toasted vanillin oak, a hint of earth and spicy pepper. Incredibly rich and concentrated with the body weight and generosity of fruit more akin to McLaren Vale or Barossa Valley than Coonawarra, this is one powerful opulent beast. Layers of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark plums completely saturate the palate with an undercurrent of toasty vanillin oak, spicy earth and pepper. Outstanding depth with a robust tannin structure for the most part hidden by the extraordinary levels of rich black fruit. Very long aftertaste of juicy ripe blackberries, liquorice, toasty vanillin oak, subtle earth and spice.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 15.5%
