Sparkling Shiraz is a unique Australian wine that’s synonymous with the Great Western region having been in production since the early 1900’s. The base wine for this cuvee is left on yeast lees in bottle for 22 months or more and disgorged in the traditional method. The dosage liqueur contains a small quantity of very old Best’s Liqueur Muscat.

An Australian Classic at the Christmas table – this is the go-to wine for Sparkling Shiraz.

Pours with a frothy purple tinged mousse that sits comfortably over a black, dark red coloured base which is finely threaded by a persistent bead. An elevated nose offers up aromas of ripe dark plum, blackberry and liquorice followed by toasty vanillin oak, traces of earth and blackpepper. Rich, luscious dark plum, liquorice, blackberry and dark chocolate flavours saturate the palate with toasty vanillin oak, spicy earth and pepper elements in the background. Refreshing acidity counterpoints the opulent dark fruits. Creamy like mouthfeel with a long velvet laced finish of dark plum, blackberry, chocolate bullets, toasty vanillin oak, earth and spice.
