Impenetrable inky black colour with a very deep black dark red hue. Heady ripe black cherry and liquorice aromas sail through the nostrils with black raspberry, incense, dried meat, scorched earth, subtle herbs du Provence and pepper notes ensuing. Rich, dense and chewy the intensely flavoured palate is engulfed with opulent black raspberry, liquorice and black cherry fruit which overlays a back drop of scorched earth, dried meats and spicy blackpepper. Ripe firm tannins give the back palate a grippy feel. Outstanding power with a long spicy black cherry, liquorice, scorched earth, dried meat and blackpepper aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 15%

Other Reviews….
The current vintage is the 2015 Côtes du Roussillon Villages and it's the same blend as the 2016, with 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache. This cuvee comes all from Gneiss (pronounced “nice”) soils, was completely destemmed and spent 18 months in concrete tanks. It’s a sensational 2015 that offers notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, chocolate, licorice and roasted herbs. Rich, full-bodied, unctuous and downright sexy, with moderate acidity and building tannin, drink this powerhouse beauty anytime over the coming 5-7 years or more. Drink 2017-2025.
