Matured for 14 months in French and American oak. Very deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a very dark to brick red hue. Nosing offers up aromas of blackcurrant infused with mint over hints of dark chocolate, vanillin cedar, light earth and spice. Medium bodied with a supple mid palate, flavours of blackcurrant laced with mint meld into earthy vanillin cedar and spicy black olive characters. Slightly dryish, grainy tannins with moderate length and aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
65% Cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot, 5% each cabernet franc and malbec, matured for 14 months in French and American oak (10% new). One of relatively few cabernet merlot blends in Coonawarra, and makes you wonder why there aren't more. If there are green or minty notes, I can't see them, instead there are supple, sweet cassis, redcurrant and dried herb flavours supported by fine, ripe tannins and French oak. Drink by 2034.
