$839.88 Dozen
Cellar: 6 - 8 Years (2023-2025)
ABV: 15.4%

Magnificent impenetrable black colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Ripe blackberry, dark plum and liquorice aromas sail from the glass followed by smoky vanillin oak, hints of mocha, dried meats and blackpepper. Full bodied, rich and powerful the palate is awash with ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark chocolate fruit underpinned by vanillin oak, subtle infusions of mocha and spicy pepper. Rich, opulent mouthfeel. The tannins have a sturdy feel to them but beneath the huge core of fruit are largely concealed. Very long aftertaste of ripe blackberries, dark chocolate, liquorice, vanillin oak, mocha and spice.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 15.4%

Other Reviews….
This single (estate) vineyard was planted in 1900, and for good measure, this full-bodied wine represents the best barrels of the vintage. Dense, deep crimson-purple; there is substantial oak showing now, but it's good quality, and I don't have the slightest doubt that when the wine approaches maturity in '24, all the juicy black fruits, licorice and chocolate will simply acknowledge that oak is part of a complex shiraz of the utmost quality. Drink by 2044.
