2014 Vina Cobos Bramare Rebon Vineyard Malbec

Produced with grapes from 11-year-old vines in La Consulta in the Valle de Uco this wine was matured in 65% new French oak and 5% new American oak barrels with the balance in second use oak for period of 19 months.

Dense inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Intense ripe blackberry and black cherry aromas combine with liquorice and dark chocolate followed by vanillin oak, earth, dried herbs and spice. Massive palate presence and concentration with a rich flavour profile of black cherries, dark plum and liquorice powering across the palate and completely saturating the mouth. Underlying vanillin cedar, scorched earth and spice are also evident. Lurking beneath the gob smacking, opulently textured rich fruit is a sturdy tannin structure. The finish lengthy with an aftertaste of black cherries, liquorice, dark plum, smoky vanillin cedar and spice.
