$34. 99
Bottle
$419.88 Dozen
Cellar: 6 - 8 Years (2026-2028)
ABV: 10.5%
Closure: Stelvin
Brilliant water like colour with a greenish tinge to the outskirts. Scents of lime infused with steel are followed by a hint of lemon and flinty mineral notes. Zesty lime, lemon and granny smith apple flavours are carried by steely acidity which has a bracing effect. Finishes dry and crisp with inflections of mineral. The aftertaste long and linear.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 10.5%

The vines in the HVD vineyard were planted in 1908 and form the ‘Sign Post Block. The wine is floral fruit in youth, which moves towards biscuity characters with age. The palate is generally softer bodied with smoother acids than the Vat 1 and Belford Semillons.

Other Reviews….
I love the pear, sliced apple and mineral aromas here. Full body, tangy fruit and a tight finish. Focused and balanced. A real beauty. Drink now or hold.

MB has already covered three of the 2014 Tyrrell’s Semillon releases, so I’ll bring up the rear with the remaining two. This and Vat 1 are my favourites this vintage. Lemon, vanilla, floral notes with the signature HVD lime tucked in nicely. Super clear fruit, beautiful soft line of acid draws it very long, a light flintiness shapes it up. Super long drizzled lime finish. Impeccable, and even as a baby wine, already great to drink. Drink by 2034+
