2014 Twinwoods Chardonnay

One third of the wine was matured in fine grained French oak with the balance left unwooded to preserve freshness. Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish highlights around the edges and a watery hue. Lifted top notes of white peaches, grapefruit and nectarines overlay biscuity oak and spice. Texturally rich with beautiful fruit purity and outstanding concentration the palate is dominated by nectarine, grapefruit and ripe peach characters with some underlying dried honey and citrus. Vibrant fresh finish with crisp acidity. Excellent length concluding with a long ripe peach, grapefruit, nectarine, dried honey, citrusy nougat and light spicy oak aftertaste.
