The Struie is sourced from several elevated sites located throughout the Barossa & Eden Valleys with the 2014 vintage benefitting from a cooler period in mid February, resulting in longer ripening periods and relatively low yields providing fruit with good concentration and depth. 77% of the fruit was from the Barossa Valley with the balance coming from the Eden Valley. Maturation took place in a combination of new (15%) and seasoned French oak for 20 months.

An Outstanding Struie that’s rich and weighty with luscious fruit flavours opulently caressing the palate.

Totally opaque inky black colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Terrific nose with intense aromas of liquorice, ripe blackberries and dark plum wafting out of the glass followed by some dark chocolate, toasty vanillin cedar and spice. Classic Struie palate with rich, very concentrated flavours of liquorice, ripe black cherries and dark plum saturating every corner of the mouth over a back drop of smoky vanillin cedar, subtle fennel infusions and spice. Velvety tannins have excellent underlying structure. Has power and depth to burn with a very long aftertaste of liquorice, ripe black cherries, dark plum, subtle smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and spice.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 15%
