2014 Tim McNeil Watervale Riesling

Tim McNeil's dry grown, tiny five acre plot of Riesling is located on Springvale Rd, Watervale, home also to Knappstein’s Ackland and Grosset’s Springvale vineyard. Over the last several vintages he has produced string of outstanding Rieslings and the 2014 is no exception.

Brilliant water like colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Pronounced aromas of lime, citrus and orange rind bound from the glass with a hint of talc and flinty mineral as end notes. Racy palate flavours of lime and citrus dominate followed by some orange rind with a dry steely mineral infused finish and crisp crunchy acidity. Excellent concentration with a long aftertaste of lime, citrus, orange rind and steely mineral.
Drink now or cellar 6-8 years.
