2014 Tenuta Delle Terre Nere Santo Spirito Etna Rosso

Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a bright dark red hue. Fragrant scents of ripe red cherries and raspberries intermix with hints of sour cherries and subtle fresh herb infusions followed by light spicy earth notes. Despite the light to medium body weight the palate possesses excellent power and is surprisingly concentrated being filled with delicious ripe red raspberry, red cherry and strawberry flavours over a back drop of dried herbs and scorched earth. Very spicy, dry finish with vibrant acidity and firm chalky tannins providing the structure. Aftertaste of spicy red raspberries, cherries, wild strawberries, dried herb infusions and scorched earth.
Grape varietals: Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio.

The 2014 Etna Rosso Santo Spirito is an absolute standout wine that shows the generosity and the elegant depth of the vintage. The bouquet is profound and thickly layered with wild fruit, forest floor, crushed mineral, sweet licorice, dried apricot and grilled herb. The wine's color is dark and saturated with brilliant ruby highlights. The wine offers even more energy and importance in terms of mouthfeel. It is truly memorable. Marco De Grazia has made some of the finest and most exciting wines I have yet to taste from mighty Etna.
