Pours a magnificent super saturated inky black colour with an equally deep dark purple black hue. Perfumed aromatics of liquorice, dark plums and blackberries overlaid with some exotic dried apricot nuances entrance the senses followed by some lightly smoked vanillin cedar, a faint meatiness and spicy end notes. Exquisitely rich and layered the palate boasts a huge core of opulently textured fruit that soaks the mouth with lavish flavours of liquorice, ripe blackberries, dark plum and subtle dark chocolate infused with complexing dried apricot characters over a background of lightly smoked vanillin cedar, a touch of meatiness and spice. An assertive tannin structure frames the huge core of fruit, yet the overall impression is one of suppleness and opulence. Exceptionally powerful with a very long aftertaste of liquorice and dark plums laced with dried apricots, ripe blackberries, subtle dark chocolate and spicy vanillin oak.
