2014 Squitchy Lane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Matured for 15 months in French oak. Totally opaque black dark red core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced ripe blackcurrant aromas married to cedary tobacco characters intermix with mulberry, some earth, traces of bay leaf and spice. Medium to full bodied, there’s ample richness to the dominant blackcurrant fruit, elements of dusty cedar, tobacco, mulberry, subtle black olive and spice then move in. Sturdy frame with a robust tannin structure. Excellent depth with a long chewy blackcurrant driven finish.
Cellar 6-8 years.

Hand-picked, 75% crushed, 25% destemmed, 2-3 days cold soak, open-fermented with cultured yeast, 20 days post-ferment maceration, matured for 16 months in French barriques (40% new). Very good colour; rich cassis fruit is matched with quality French oak and velvety tannins. Seriously attractive wine. Drink by 2034.
