This wine pays tribute to David Marschall who was not only responsible for planting many treasured old vine vineyards throughout the Barossa but was also a revered martial artist, actor and demolition expert. The majority of the fruit is sourced from three Marschall vineyards located in the Tanunda and Ebenezer districts. The Tanunda vineyard provides intense aromatic lift while the Ebenezer vineyards provide a denser fruit core and richness. Maturation took place in a mixture of new and seasoned French and American oak for a period of 18 months.

An Outstanding follow up to the much lauded inaugural 2013 release.

Impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark purple black hue. Excellent aromatics with scents of liquorice, ripe dark cherries and plum intermingling with fennel and smoky cedar along with traces of spice. Rich, yet with a sense of finesse and very savoury the palate dishes up a sumptuous flavour profile of liquorice, plum and dark cherries over some fennel, smoky cedar infusions, a subtle meatiness and spice. Sleek, supple texture with perfectly integrated velvet smooth tannins. Possesses excellent depth and finishes with a long, delicious conclusion of liquorice, dark plum, some fennel, smoky cedar and a spicy meatiness.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%
