Opaque dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Aromas of spicy dark raspberries and liquorice merge into earthy dark chocolate, traces of leather and pepper. Medium weight ripe dark raspberry and liquorice flavours are to the fore with some ripe black cherries, earth and spice on the back palate. Ripe, slightly chewy tannins with a medium length finish of spicy dark raspberries, liquorice, subtle earth and pepper.
Cellar 2-3 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews…
A 57/38/5% blend, 15% whole bunch for the grenache and shiraz, wild yeast open-fermented. This is deadly serious stuff, the mourvedre contributing a lavish superstructure of tannins for the other two varieties to hang their red fruits on; the palate is extremely long, and will carry the wine?s message for years to come. Drink by 2044.
