2014 Rockcliffe Single Site Chardonnay

A rich, mouthfilling Chardonnay with a finish that sails long into the night.

Brilliant straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a very pale straw hue. Intense white peach, ripe nectarine and dried honey aromas meld into some toast, cashew, nougat and spice. The palate boasts superb richness and concentration delivering totally mouthfilling flavours of ripe peaches and nectarines intermixed with dried honey over a background of subtlety toasted oak, cashew, nougat and spice. Despite its body weight and rich creamy textural feel the palate still retains good freshness. Outstanding length concluding with a long ripe peach, nectarine, dried honey, toasted cashew, nougat and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

The highly fragrant and expressive bouquet has a knife edge of reduction adding another degree of complexity, but doesn't prepare you for the explosive power of the racy palate, built around unsweetened grapefruit and minerally acidity. You want to rise from your chair to salute the wine. Drink by 2025.
