Semi translucent bright dark crimson red colour with a crimson red hue. Lifted aromas of ripe dark cherries and strawberries are intermixed with some anise, toasty cedar and a spiced meatiness. Light, fruity and supplely textured the palate features generous flavours of ripe dark cherries and strawberries alongside spicy toasty oak, traces of anise and meaty characters. Good richness and power with velvet smooth tannins finishing with a long aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, ripe strawberries, spicy anise and toasty oak.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Highly perfumed and expressive. Almost irresistibly so. Cherries, raspberries, sweet-sour aspects but blossomy scent aplenty. Spice and aged meat characters make a clear run too; it's such a pretty wine and yet there's a lot going on. At the price, it's an easy Yes. Drink by 2020.
