Refined and elegant, yet wonderfully concentrated.

Brilliant pale straw colour with distinct greenish highlights around the edges and a watery hue. Showing impressive intensity and complexity nosing offers up scents of white peach and cashew infused with flinty struck match stick notes followed by some biscuity oak, subtle roasted almonds and spice. Nicely textured with a sense of creaminess the palate features mouthfilling flavours of white peaches intermingling with some nectarines, roasted almond, flinty struck match stick characters, dried honey and spice. Clean dry finish with good freshness and length. Long conclusion of white peaches, roasted almonds, dried honey, struck match stick characters and spicy toasted biscuity oak.

Other Reviews…
Picked over 1 month, hand-sorted, chilled to 5 degrees C, whole bunch-pressed, 90% cultured yeast, 10% wild, primary and mlf in French oak (50% new) with 12 months maturation and stirring. One of the Margaret River princes of chardonnay, with perfect balance and length, the suite of flavours so complex they border on savoury; the length is remarkable. Drink by 2023.
