Moorooduc Estate, planted in 1982, was one of the first to be established on the Mornington Peninsula by Richard and Jill McIntyre who today continue to make magnificent wines assisted by their daughter Kate McIntyre MW. The 2014 vintage yielded very small volumes (down by approximately 75%) for Moorooduc Pinot due to poor flowering. Cropped at less than 0.5 tons per acre the fruit was 100% destemmed and the resultant wine matured in predominately older French oak for a period of 10 months.

Rich and sleek with compelling power.

Deep dark red colour with a touch of black around the edges and a dark red hue. The nose is a power house of aromas offering up top notes of violets followed by spicy ripe dark cherries, dark plums and anise infusions with an overlay of smoky cedar also present. Rich and deliciously moreish the supplely textured palate delivers intense flavours of ripe dark cherries, dark plums and strawberries over subtle anise infusions, some meatiness and spicy lightly smoked cedar. Outstanding concentration and power with a very long lasting aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, dark plums, anise, subtle fennel infusions and spicy, lightly smoked cedar.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14%
