2014 Montalto Pennon Hill Pinot Noir

Fresh, bright and delicious with excellent complexity, power and richness.

Matured in French oak barriques of which 26% were new for a period of 11 months. Semi translucent bright dark red colour with a tinge of black around the edges and a crimson red hue. Lifted aromas of ripe dark cherries, dark plums and strawberries are interlaced with some anise, meatiness, lightly toasted oak and spice. Light in weight but generously flavoured with dark cherries and dark plums which interplay with some meatiness, a touch of anise, light smokiness and spice. Excellent power wave with very fine grained, beautifully integrated tannins. Very savoury with a long conclusion of dark cherries, dark plum, light anise, meatiness, smoky cedar and spice.
