2014 Lopez Cristobal Tinto Roble

A 95% Tempranillo, 5% Merlot blend. Superb colour with an impenetrable inky black core and a very deep dark purple hue. Lifted ripe black raspberry scents drift into some dark cherry and liquorice notes with underlying vanillin cedar and faint fresh herb end notes. Big juicy palate flavours of ripe black cherries and liquorice meet up with some dark raspberries under pinned by earthy vanillin cedar with a spicy finish. Chewy mouthfeel with firm, slightly dryish, but well integrated tannins and fresh youthful acidity. Long ripe black cherry, dark raspberry, liquorice, spicy earth and vanillin cedar aftertaste.
