2014 Longview Yakka Shiraz

Rich and savoury this is an outstanding example of Adelaide Hills Shiraz

Matured in new and seasoned French oak hogsheads for 15-18 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced aromas of liquorice, blackberries and ripe black cherries are overlaid by smoky cedar, some meatiness and black pepper. The palate possesses excellent richness and concentration with a meaty opulent mouthfeel, good balance and a savoury nature. Mouthfilling flavours of liquorice, ripe black cherries and blackberries are to the fore with underlying lightly smoked vanillin cedar, dried meats and pepper. The solidly built finely grained tannins carry the fruit well and provide an excellent framework. Long aftertaste of liquorice, blackberries, lightly smoked vanillin cedar and peppered dried meats.
