2014 Katnook Estate Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

Matured for 17 months in 45% French (9% new) and 55% American oak barrels. Totally opaque black dark red core with a deep brick red black tinged hue. Elevated ripe blackcurrant aromatics meld into vanillin cedar, tobacco and earth nuances with hints of black olive and spice also present. Medium bodied and smooth across the mid palate, flavours of blackcurrant and mulberry are followed by earthy vanillin cedar, notions of dried tobacco and spicy black olive. Slightly dryish finish with fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of spicy blackcurrant, mulberry, earthy vanillin cedar, black olives and dried herbs.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
