Aged for 18 months in small French oak barrels, 40% of which were new. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Elevated blackcurrant and mulberry aromas infused with bay leaf sit over hints of black olive, dusty cedar and spice. Full bodied rich blackcurrant and liquorice fruit smacks the palate with authority. Bay leaf, dusty vanillin cedar and spice nuances ensue. Fine, slightly grainy tannins are well integrated. Long aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, bay leaf, dusty cedar, faint black olives and spice.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
Substance is its middle name. It loads blackcurrant, tar, mint and dark chocolate flavours in the barrel and fires them at you with great and accurate force; it feels controlled throughout, in equal part satisfying and impressive. Drink by 2034.
