The fruit for this Cabernet was sourced from the Wetherall property - one of Coonawarra's best kept secrets. The family have been growing grapes for the big boys for decades from Terra Rossa blocks in the heart of Coonawarra, and the big boys have been happily making exceptional Coonawarra Reds without even a whisper as to where the grapes have come from!

Bottle age has bestowed a degree of elegance and refinement to what is otherwise a rich powerful Coonawarra Cabernet.

Impressive midnight black heart with a deep very dark red black hue. Pronounced blackcurrant and mulberry aromatics are intertwined with cedary tobacco characters, dried herbs and earthy black olives. Hints of bay leaf also poke through. Rich blackcurrant and liquorice fruits cast a silky feel across the medium to full bodied palate with mulberry, tobacco, lightly dusted cedar, black olives and spicy dried herbs the back drop. Very polished, seamlessly integrated tannins with the powerful finish picking up a degree of elegance as it lingers long after the wine has been swallowed.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
